Independent Software Atelier

Made slowly, on purpose.

Every UIDLE app began with one small thing that bothered me, and was not finished until it stopped.

How I work at UIDLE

Why I build this way.

Sound

NAGI started because I kept reaching for the equalizer. A song would sound almost right — the bass a little heavy, a voice a little buried, a cymbal a little sharp — so I adjusted, listened again, adjusted again, until I was no longer listening to the music. I built NAGI so the adjusting could stop and the listening could start.

Interface

I move things by a pixel and move them back. I rewrite the words on a button until they stop sounding like software. Nobody notices when it is right. Everyone feels it when it is wrong.

Endurance

I want things to keep working: offline when they can, on your device when it makes sense, and maintained long after the launch is forgotten.

That is the only reason UIDLE exists.

Still in the workshop
